Jeffrey A. Smith is a licensed Massachusetts Home Inspector (#165) and an active certified member (#096119) of THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF HOME INSPECTORS (ASHI), both National and the New England Chapters. ASHI is known as being the standard bearer and leading trade organization in the inspection field. Jeff has been active in the home inspection field for the past 30 years, and has conducted over 10,000 inspections and is considered a master inspector.

Certification in ASHI is an earned credential, and is gained by taking and passing two timed rigorous three hour examinations and the review of his inspection report for content and adherence to the Society's strict "Standards of Practice" and "Code of Ethics". An accumulation of membership renewal credits every year is also required to maintain membership in THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF HOME INSPECTORS.

In his effort to maintain a high level of continuing education, Jeff attends numerous specialized workshops and, monthly seminars, and has held a seat on ASHI New England's Educational Committee. He has also done expert witness testimony in both Plymouth and Barnstable County courts. Jeff has also appeared on P.B.S. (Public Broadcasting System) in the fall of 1997 as the featured home inspector on a television series called About Your House with Bob Yapp. In October 1998 Jeff was featured in an article about home inspection in the newspaper "The Chronicle". In March 2003 Jeff was again the featured Home Inspector in an article about the home inspection profession in the Provincetown "Banner".
